As an Indigenous entrepreneur and fierce opponent of corporate fraud, I have witnessed firsthand how systemic corruption erodes our communities, cultures, and futures.
At BDM LLC, our mission is clear: expose and dismantle the webs of deceit spun by international corporations, corrupt attorneys, state attorneys, and even judges. Drawing on my personal battles in the DuPage County Courthouse, where fraud schemes involving stock manipulation and discriminatory practices nearly silenced my voice, I want to highlight an often-overlooked ally in this fight – the notary public.
Notaries are not just stamp-wielders; they are guardians of truth who can reset the rigged game against the powerful.
MY DUPAGE COUNTY NIGHTMARE: A PERSONAL ENCOUNTER WITH COURT-CORPORATE FRAUD
Let me take you back to the halls of the DuPage County Courthouse in Illinois. As an Indigenous individual fighting for justice against Lamb Weston – a massive international potato corporation with ties to Idaho stock collusion – I encountered a labyrinth of fraud. What started as a straightforward case devolved into a nightmare of manipulated documents, biased rulings, and outright discrimination. Corrupt attorneys twisted facts, state’s attorneys turned a blind eye to evidence, and judges seemed more interested in protecting corporate interests than in upholding the law.
One glaring scheme involved falsified affidavits and stock-related documents that undervalued Indigenous-held assets, effectively stripping cultural and economic rights.
International corporations like Lamb Weston exploited these loopholes, colluding with local courts to push through deals that disregarded Indigenous heritage and our property ties. I experienced hate crimes disguised as legal proceedings, where my neurodivergent status and Indigenous background were weaponized against me. But amid this chaos, I discovered a powerful tool: notarization.
By having key documents notarized, I created an unbreakable chain of authenticity that exposed the fraud and forced accountability.
This is not just my story – it is a pattern. Indigenous, stripped of our culture, renamed as Black communities across the U.S. face similar assaults, from land grabs by energy giants to cultural erasure through fraudulent legal maneuvers. In DuPage County alone, high-value court fraud often targets vulnerable groups, with women and minorities bearing the brunt. But here is the game-changer: notaries can turn the tide.
NOTARIES AS PROTECTORS OF INDIGENOUS CULTURE
Indigenous, wrongfully renamed to the black culture, is not just history; it is a living legacy tied to land, traditions, and sovereignty. Yet, fraud schemes in courts and corporations threaten it daily. Notaries play a pivotal role in protecting our heritage by verifying the authenticity of documents.
- Authenticating Cultural Affidavits and Deeds: Notaries ensure that affidavits detailing tribal histories, land claims, or cultural artifacts are tamper-proof. In cases where corporations like Lamb Weston attempt to undervalue or seize Indigenous-linked properties for stock gains, a notarized deed can serve as ironclad evidence in federal or tribal courts.
- Preventing Exploitation by International Corporations: Global companies often use shell games – fake contracts, forged signatures – to bypass Indigenous rights. A notary’s seal verifies identities and intentions, stopping these schemes cold. For instance, notarizing partnership agreements or environmental impact statements can block fraudulent developments that harm sacred sites.
- Preserving Oral Histories in Written Form: Many Indigenous traditions are oral, but courts demand paper trails. Notaries can witness and certify transcribed stories, turning them into admissible evidence against cultural appropriation or fraud.
In my DuPage experience, notarizing evidence of stock collusion revealed how corporate fraud intertwined with court corruption, protecting not just my rights but those of broader Indigenous networks.
BYPASSING ILLINOIS GOVERNOR JB PRITZKER’S DELIBERATELY WEAK OVERSIGHT – A SNIDE LITTLE GIFT TO HIS CORRUPT FRIENDS
Let’s talk about Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s “oversight” system – or rather, the carefully engineered lack of one.
Pritzker’s administration has mastered the art of weak-by-design regulation: toothless ethics commissions, underfunded investigative units, and conveniently slow complaint processes that give corrupt lawyers, state’s attorneys, and politically connected judges plenty of time to cover their tracks.
The game is simple: make oversight so feeble and sluggish that it becomes functionally useless. Complaints against corrupt attorneys vanish into bureaucratic black holes. Judicial misconduct investigations drag on for years. And when a politically connected player is caught red-handed? The system politely looks the other way while the governor’s donor class keeps smiling.
This isn’t incompetence. It’s intentional architecture – a cozy little firewall protecting the governor’s lawyer buddies, his campaign contributors, and the judges who owe their robes to the right political machine.
It’s why fraud in DuPage and Cook Counties can flourish with virtual impunity. The state’s so-called “watchdogs” are on a leash so short they can barely bark. Hereis where the notary becomes a beautiful middle finger to that entire rigged setup.
Notaries operate outside the governor’s weak oversight circus. We don’t answer to Pritzker’s ethics board. BDM, LLC does not wait for months for a complaint to be “reviewed.”
When you notarize a document – especially remotely– you create an immediate, tamper-evident, time-stamped record that carries legal weight nationwide and can be used in federal court, tribal court, or even congressional inquiries. No Illinois political favor can erase a properly notarized chain of custody. That includes their shortcomings in handling judicial and lawyer complaints, such as in the State of Illinois.
In short: while Pritzker’s cronies are busy slow-walking investigations to protect their friends, a notary can lock down evidence today – before the shredders start humming. That’s not just protection. That’s preemptive justice.
RESETTING THE GAME AGAINST CORRUPT LEGAL PLAYERS
The legal system is stacked: corrupt attorneys fabricate narratives, state’s attorneys prioritize politics over justice, and judges wield unchecked power. But notaries level the field by creating verifiable records that can’t be easily dismissed.
- Exposing Attorney Fraud: Corrupt lawyers thrive on altered documents. Notaries require ID verification and sworn oaths, making forgeries risky. In DuPage, I used notarized timelines to counter an attorney’s false claims, turning their scheme against them.
- Challenging State’s Attorneys: These officials often ignore evidence in favor of corporate donors. A notarized complaint or whistleblower affidavit forces investigations, as the seal adds legal weight. It’s a direct counter to their selective enforcement.
- Holding Judges Accountable: Judges can’t ignore notarized proofs without risking appeals or ethics probes. By notarizing motions or exhibits, you create a public record that exposes bias. In my case, this “righted the game” – resetting the corrupt dynamics and pushing for fairer hearings.
Notaries operate outside the courtroom drama as impartial witnesses under state law. BDM LLC offers remote online notarization (RON). In select states, we extend this power nationwide, allowing Indigenous advocates anywhere to secure documents without traveling to jurisdictions with corruption.
